Every pathway.
One system.
Five biological mechanisms. Three research-grade serums. Two commercial cosmetics. Formulated for men and women at every life stage — from the first sign of thinning to advanced loss.
Not one problem.
Five.
Hair loss is multifactorial. Most products address one pathway and ignore the rest. Follis targets all five simultaneously — DHT suppression, follicle vascularization, stem cell activation, oxidative stress, and permeability — with ingredients that have published research behind them.
DHT Suppression
Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) miniaturizes hair follicles over time. Dutasteride blocks both type I and type II 5-alpha reductase enzymes — more complete than finasteride, which only blocks type II. Natural saw palmetto and pumpkin seed oil provide a gentler alternative pathway for women of childbearing age.
Follicle Vascularization
Minoxidil opens potassium channels, dilating blood vessels at the scalp and increasing delivery of oxygen and nutrients to follicles. It prolongs the anagen (active growth) phase. Niacinamide further supports microcirculation throughout the day in the leave-in formula.
Stem Cell Activation
AHK-Cu (Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3) activates follicular stem cells via the Wnt signaling pathway and prolongs the anagen phase independently of DHT. It has substantivity — it binds to scalp tissue and doesn't rinse off, making it effective even in the conditioner. No mainstream conditioner delivers this peptide at meaningful concentration.
Oxidative Protection
Melatonin applied topically acts as an antioxidant at the follicle level, protecting against oxidative damage that contributes to follicle aging. Published RCT data shows topical melatonin reduces shedding. Combined with caffeine's adenosine receptor antagonism, it provides a second independent DHT-pathway.
Permeability Enhancement
Tretinoin at 0.025% increases scalp skin permeability, amplifying absorption of every co-formulated active. It also promotes follicle cycling via retinoid receptors. BHT stabilizes tretinoin against oxidative degradation.
The gold standard of hair regrowth. Vasodilator — opens potassium channels, increases follicle blood flow. 10% concentration in men's serum, 5% in women's formulas.
Blocks both 5-AR type I and II — more complete DHT suppression than finasteride. Published topical studies show therapeutic scalp levels with minimal systemic absorption.
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3. Activates follicular stem cells via Wnt pathway. Binds substantively to scalp tissue. No mainstream conditioner delivers it — this is our marker ingredient.
0.025% concentration amplifies absorption of every co-formulated active by increasing stratum corneum permeability. Also promotes follicle cycling via retinoid receptor signaling.
Caffeine antagonizes adenosine receptors at the follicle — a DHT-independent mechanism, fully additive to dutasteride. Melatonin provides antioxidant protection. Both stay on scalp all day in the leave-in.
Behentrimonium chloride (C22 chain) binds damaged hair electrostatically and stays through rinsing. Hydrolyzed keratin fills structural gaps. Silk protein deposits on the cuticle for shine and smoothness.
Formulated for your biology.
Two commercial cosmetics anyone can use. Three research-grade serums targeting specific biology by sex and life stage. The system works as a whole — or use the commercial products alone for the non-prescription pathway.
Conditioner
A luxury rinse-out conditioner formulated to deposit AHK-Cu directly onto the scalp while repairing the hair shaft from inside out. BTMC at 6% — the concentration found in professional salon formulas, far beyond anything on drugstore shelves. Scented with an IFRA-certified vanilla fragrance oil designed specifically for rinse-off retention.
Scalp Cream
Applied to damp hair post-shower and left on all day. AHK-Cu at five times the conditioner concentration — nothing washes away. Caffeine and niacinamide maintain full scalp contact for hours, not seconds. Natural DHT-blocking oils provide a gentle alternative mechanism for those not using the research serums.
Serum
Maximum-strength dual DHT blockade combined with high-concentration minoxidil and tretinoin-enhanced permeability. Five mechanisms in one bottle. Formulated in a Transcutol HP / propylene glycol / ethanol vehicle optimized for dutasteride solubility and scalp penetration.
Serums
Two distinct formulas for two distinct biologies. Post-menopausal: dutasteride at half the men's dose — androgen-driven female hair loss responds to the same mechanism as male pattern loss. Childbearing age: dutasteride fully replaced by saw palmetto extract with no teratogenicity concern. Both use minoxidil 5% and tretinoin-enhanced absorption.
Men and women lose hair
differently.
Same mechanism — DHT sensitivity — different expression, different concentrations, different contraindications. Every serum is tailored to the biology it's treating.
Male pattern hair loss is primarily androgenic — DHT-driven miniaturization of follicles at the temples and crown. The men's serum goes to maximum concentrations: 10% minoxidil, 0.1% dutasteride (both 5-AR type I and II blocked), enhanced by tretinoin-driven permeability. Applied twice daily to dry scalp.
Post-menopausal female hair loss is androgen-driven — declining estrogen unmasks DHT sensitivity that was previously masked. The post-meno formula uses half-dose dutasteride; no pregnancy concern after menopause. For childbearing age women, dutasteride is fully replaced by saw palmetto — a natural 5-AR inhibitor with no teratogenicity risk. Minoxidil at 5% in both to reduce hypertrichosis risk.
The only conditioner
with AHK-Cu.
Every luxury brand puts expensive peptides in serums and leaves-on products. We put AHK-Cu in the conditioner because its substantivity — its ability to bind to scalp tissue and resist rinsing — makes it genuinely effective even in a rinse-off format. Nobody else does this because of cost, sourcing complexity, and conventional wisdom that says expensive actives shouldn't rinse away. We disagree.
BTMC at 6% — Professional Concentration
Behentrimonium chloride with a C22 carbon chain. Drugstore conditioners use cetrimonium chloride (C16) at 0.5%. The longer chain means far greater substantivity — it binds to negatively charged damaged hair electrostatically and stays there through rinsing. This is what $40 salon conditioners actually do differently.
Dual Protein System
Hydrolyzed keratin (200–500 Da MW) penetrates the hair cortex and fills structural damage from within — not just coating the surface. Hydrolyzed silk protein deposits amino acids on the cuticle for surface smoothness and shine. Together they target both layers of damaged hair.
Dual Silicone Architecture
Dimethicone 350cst stays on hair after rinsing — lasting heat protection and slip. Cyclopentasiloxane (D5) is volatile — it provides immediate gloss and the luxury feel during application, then evaporates. Most conditioners use just one; the combination is what produces that fresh-from-the-salon weight without heaviness.
IFRA-Certified Vanilla Fragrance
Not extract. Not vanillin. A professionally blended cosmetic fragrance oil designed for rinse-off retention — multi-note vanilla with a musk base that survives rinsing and lingers on hair. The same category of fragrance used by the brands you already know.
All three research serums contain minoxidil, which artificially prolongs the anagen (growth) phase. When minoxidil is discontinued, hairs that were held in anagen simultaneously enter the telogen (resting) phase and shed 1–3 months after stopping — a phenomenon called telogen effluvium. The hair is not permanently lost; it is a synchronized shed that resolves as follicles cycle normally. The conditioner and leave-in contain no minoxidil and may be stopped at any time without this effect. The serums are published and made available for research — users should understand this mechanism before beginning.
Every hour of the day
working.
The system is designed around continuous activity — something is always working at the scalp level. The serum's actives peak in the morning and evening. The leave-in's caffeine and AHK-Cu work throughout the day. The conditioner rebuilds the shaft every shower.
1mL applied to dry scalp in thinning areas. Part hair and apply to skin, not shaft. Let dry before styling. Begins DHT suppression and vasodilation cycle.
3–5mL applied to damp scalp and worked through hair. Stays on all day. AHK-Cu, caffeine, and niacinamide maintain continuous scalp contact for hours.
Applied in shower, left for 2–3 minutes, rinsed out. BTMC and proteins deposit on and in the hair shaft. AHK-Cu binds to scalp tissue. Vanilla fragrance lingers.
Second 1mL application — the most important dose for minoxidil protocols. Overnight absorption. Scalp is undisturbed for maximum contact time during sleep.
